Where I come from (Cleveland), fresh perogies are sold at every grocery store. But you can use the frozen kind with very good results.

1 bag frozen potato-cheese perogies, cooked according to package directions and drained well
4 medium yellow onions, sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Method/Steps
In a large skillet, sauté onions in a mixture of butter and olive oil until caramel-coloured and soft. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove from skillet.
Add cooked, drained perogies to the skillet. Sauté on both sides until slightly browned. Serve topped with caramelized onions.
Serve applesauce and sour cream on the side. Peas are a nice colourful vegetable to complement this dish.

Wine and Spirits Match
A buttery Chardonnay will echo the buttery flavour of the caramelized onions.
