Maple Syrup Pie 2
Here’s another version of the same tarte au sirop d’érable, this one from my friend Carol, and again from her mom. The big différence here is that the pie shell is pre-cooked. Take your pick.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups maple syrup
1 cup cream
4 tbsp corn starch, mixed into 4 tbsp cold water
1 pre-cooked pie shell
unsweetened whipped cream
crushed nuts
Method/Steps
In a saucepan mix the syrup with the cream. Add the corn starch and water mix.
Simmer for two minutes, constantly stirring with a whisk. Let the mixture cool and pour into the pie crust.
Garnish with unsweetened whipped cream and crushed nuts.
