Béchamel (White Sauce)
This sauce is incredibly versatile. It's used in a whole array of dishes from every day macaroni and cheese to special occasion lasagne. You can even easily increase or decrease the amount according to your needs.
Ingredients
1 cup milk
1 to 2 Tbsp butter
1 to 2 Tbsp flour
salt
pepper
Method/Steps
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
2. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute.
3. Gradually stir in the milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick. Adjust seasoning.
