Balsamic Roasted Onions
Ingredients
1 cup balsamic vinegar
1-1/4 cups water
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
20 cipollini onions, peeled and left whole
Method/Steps
1. In a large pan, combine balsamic, water, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
2. Lay onions in a baking pan. Pour balsamic mixture over them. Bake in a 400°F oven until they give readily when squeezed, about 45 minutes. If liquid evaporates, add a little water to prevent scorching. Arrange onions on a platter; pour pan juices over them. Serve hot or at room temperature.
