Baked Quince

Ingredients

4 quinces

Butter

1/3 cup fine bread crumbs

1/4 cup chopped nuts

1/4 cup brown sugar

Zest from 1 lemon

Salt

Method/Steps

Rub whole quince with butter. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes until almost tender. Core and hollow out about 2/3 of the remaining fruit and mix this pulp with bread crumbs, chopped nuts, brown sugar, lemon zest and salt. Return mixture to the partially hollowed out quince and bake about 15 minutes longer or until tender. Serve hot or cold with ice cream.
