We’ve always loved a good story — especially when it is wrapped around a bottle of wine. I guess you can say we are a magazine of firsts. We were one of the first to talk about South Africa and Australia. We demystified all the components of California, Washington State and Oregon. We also cleared up a lot of the misconceptions around the Old World. Being around for 35 plus years hasn’t hurt. So when a story comes along that is this enticing you don’t want to walk away from it. That’s what happened when contributing editor Tod Stewart told me about Randall Grahm’s newest accolade. This is the first interview Grahm gave after winning the coveted James Beard Foundation Book Award. I love when we have firsts — especially when they are exclusive.
