680News is proud to announce that our very own Wine Guy, Tony Aspler, has received the Order of Canada. Tony has spent the past 30 years number of years profiling and educating Canadians about wines. He has traveled the world, bringing home to Canada new wines he has tasted on his tours. He is the anchor columnist for Tidings Magazine and the author of numerous books, including his most recent The Definitive Canadian Wine & Cheese Cookbook and The Wine Atlas of Canada.

Tony says, “While growing up, I tried to impress upon my parents that what I really wanted to do for a living was drink wine and write about it. I wish they had lived to see this day.”
