Recently, the Dairy Farmers of Canada set a new Guinness Record for the world's largest smoothie at the Bust-a-Record Dairy Day celebration on Toronto's waterfront. It was a 1,000-litre All Canadian Blueberry Smoothie made up of 550 litres of 100% Canadian milk, 300 kg of frozen Canadian blueberries, 150 litres of Canadian vanilla yogurt and 35 litres of Canadian honey. The massive mixture was blended together in a giant 1,200-litre stainless steel bolt tank by a team of Canadian dairy producers.

When asked why the Dairy Farmers of Canada decided to get involved, Jacques Laforge, the organization's president revealed that "setting a new Guinness World Record with the All Canadian Blueberry Smoothie is a wonderful way to celebrate our Canadian dairy producers and the purity, high quality and great taste of dairy products made from 100% Canadian milk." Amidst a festival-like atmosphere of cow milking, contests and fun, hundreds of milk aficionados came out to cheer on the record breaking team and try some of the world's largest smoothie.

The blueberries that went into the smoothie came form Quebec's Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean area, the honey was produced by Alberta's Honey Bunny company and the milk and yogurt were provided by Parmalat in Ontario. Moonstone Mechanical (also from Ontario) provided the giant mixing tank.

You don't need a mega-mixer to try this winner for yourself.
